Direct veneers are a quicker and more adaptable solution. They require no impressions or lab work, which means they can be completed in a single visit. They can also be easily reshaped or polished later.

Porcelain veneers, on the other hand, involve at least two appointments and require a dental technician to fabricate the restoration after taking digital impressions. They are more durable and closely mimic natural tooth enamel, requiring less maintenance over time. However, porcelain veneers typically involve the removal of 0.3–1 mm of enamel from the front surface of the tooth.

From a cost perspective, direct veneers are more affordable than porcelain veneers.
