If the inflammation is severe, we may perform open curettage. The area is then irrigated with an antiseptic solution, and a gel promoting gum regeneration is applied. If needed, we also place bone graft material and a membrane to encourage bone regeneration. Finally, the area is sutured, and stitches are removed one week after surgery.<\/p>\n
